BIRCH TREE STUDIO

Secret English Privacy

Effective September 28, 2026

The short version: Secret English collects nothing. No account, no sign-in, no analytics, no ads, and no network access. Your progress lives on your iPhone and nowhere else.

What we collect: nothing

We collect no personal data and no usage data. No analytics, no crash reporting, no trackers, no cookies. The app's App Store privacy label says the same thing: Data Not Collected.

Your progress stays on your device

Which lessons you've finished, your review schedule, your streak and your best Rush score are saved in one file inside the app's own storage on your iPhone. It is never uploaded, because the app has no way to upload anything. Delete the app and the file goes with it.

Audio is made on your phone

When the app says a kana out loud, it uses your iPhone's built-in Japanese voice. Nothing is recorded, and the app never uses the microphone.

Purchases are handled by Apple

Unlock Forever is an in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details or your Apple ID. The app only asks the App Store whether you own it, and that check happens on your device.

No third parties

There are no SDKs, advertising partners or analytics partners in the app. We don't share or sell data — there's none to share.

This website

This page is a plain website hosted on Vercel. It runs no analytics and sets no cookies; like any web host, Vercel may keep standard server access logs. That has nothing to do with the app.

Children

Secret English collects no data from anyone, of any age.
